HPS Elementary Art Teachers Present....Fail Proof and Frame Ready!

The HPS Elementary art teachers had a fabulous weekend attending the Fall Michigan Art Education Association conference in Grand Rapids.  We were able to meet with vendors, take classes, attend seminars, and collaborate with fellow art specialists from across Michigan.  The MAEA is comprised of nearly 1,000 members and is the major provider of professional development opportunities for Michigan art educators.  This conference is recognized as one of the best in the nation for art educators!

The HPS teachers enjoyed presenting seven of our best art lessons to a large crowd of art teachers during our Saturday "Fail Proof and Frame Ready" make-and-take workshop.  Teachers were able to make samples of our projects for their classrooms as well as access detailed lesson plans from our blog.  Our lesson plans are available here: MAEA Lessons.

Attending the MAEA Conference and presenting our workshop at the conference provided the HPS Elementary teachers with valuable professional development opportunities and time to collaborate with fellow art specialists from across Michigan. We were also able to achieve personal goals that relate to our 5D+ Teacher Evaluation Rubric in the areas of Professional Learning and Collaboration with peers.

Special thanks to our HPS Conference Committee and HPS Administration for making funds available for us to attend the annual MAEA Conference!
