High School Art II Drawing


Grid Art Self Portrait Art II Drawing

Objectives for Students:
            • Learn about Photorealism and Chuck Close
            • Learn about how to use colored pencil
            • Learn how to set up a grid drawing
            • Learn how to create the 6 categories of value 
            • Learn about Non-Objective art
High School art students all took pics of themselves with sunglasses on.  After learning about how to set up grid art, they got busy getting their initial sketch down with contour lines.  Students then used the six categories of value to add depth to their portraits.  Finally students were to produce a non-objective design in their sunglasses that correlated to their background in colored pencil.  Here are some of the results:
